Community Guidelines
Project Open Room exists to support people through shared experiences and respectful conversation. These guidelines help keep the space safe and constructive.
1. Be Respectful
Treat others with respect, even when you disagree.
Bullying, harassment, intimidation, threats, or targeted attacks are not allowed.
2. No Harmful Behavior
Do not post content that encourages or supports:
- self-harm or suicide
- violence or harm toward others
- dangerous or unsafe actions
- substance misuse
3. No Harmful Advice
This platform is not a place to give instructions that could put someone at risk.
Do not present advice as guaranteed solutions. Avoid telling others what they should do in serious or sensitive situations.
4. Do Not Impersonate Professionals
Do not claim to be a doctor, therapist, counselor, or other professional unless you are verified through the platform.
Even if you are verified, do not present your responses as personal treatment or care.
5. Protect Privacy
Do not share:
- your own sensitive personal information
- someone else's private information
- identifying details about others
Keep posts general enough to stay safe.
6. Keep Content Appropriate
Do not post:
- explicit or exploitative content
- hate speech or discriminatory language
- spam or promotional content
- misleading or false information intended to harm
7. No Private Messaging
Project Open Room does not offer private or direct messaging between users.
Do not post contact information to move conversations off-platform with other users.
8. Stay Supportive
This is a peer support space. Aim to:
- share experiences, not commands
- offer empathy, not judgment
- respond with care, not certainty
9. Moderation
All posts and comments may be reviewed.
Unsafe or inappropriate content may be held, removed, or restricted.
10. Reporting
If you see content that violates these guidelines or feels unsafe, report it.

We are building a space where people can speak openly and feel supported. These guidelines help protect that environment for everyone.
